On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Lonnie S. Palmer, loving husband, and Father of one son, passed away at age 68.

Lonnie was born on September 4, 1952 in Baton Rouge, LA to Willie Wishadell, Sr. and JoAnn Walker Palmer. He was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a retired office with the United States Air Force as well as a retired officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Lonnie and his high school sweetheart, Barbara McKinley rekindled a romance  and married on November 11, 2011. They were both inseparable until Barbara's untimely death on October 6, 2020.

Lonnie loved sports and believed that family was everything. He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and always made time to visit family.

Lonnie is survived by his son, Sedric Chinier Blakes (Debra); three  grandsons, Sedric, Jr. , Nicholas, and Cayman Blakes; sisters, Shirley Palmer (Nathan) Brooks, Gertha Palmer, Anya Palmer, Marcia Palmer and Kayon Palmer; a brother, Darius Palmer all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Palmer; his parents, Willie Wishadell, Sr. and JoAnn Palmer; and a brother, Willie Wishadell Palmer, Jr.
